Information about the processing of personal data

In connection with the implementation of the requirements of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the EU Council 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free flow of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation “RODO”), the M. Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences informs that it takes special care to protect personal data and to respect the rights of data subjects.

Hereinafter referred to as the Administrator. The Administrator carries out the processing operations of your personal data.

  2. Your personal data will be processed for:
  • conducting research work in the field of experimental biology;
  • conduct development work in the field of the Institute’s operations and implement the results of this research into the economy;
  • Supporting those starting their scientific careers;
  • training of researchers and specialists with special qualifications in the biological sciences, including in the specialties of biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, cell biology, neurophysiology, neurobiology, neuropsychology, ethology, behavioral sciences, bioinformatics and neuroinformatics:
  • conduct doctoral studies, student internships and research placements;
  • cooperation with universities, research institutes and scientific societies, especially in the field of scientific research and development work;
  • Cooperation with the socio-economic community in scientific research and development work for implementation;
  • to develop international scientific cooperation by forming scientific consortia and conducting research projects together with foreign partners;
  • Dissemination and popularization of knowledge in the field of the Institute’s activities;
  • Performing legal obligations related to the employment of employees;
  • conclusion and execution of contracts;
  • to perform other tasks resulting from applicable regulations and ordered by the authorities of the Polish Academy of Sciences;

and will not be made available to other recipients with the exception of entities authorized under applicable law, public authorities and entities performing public tasks or acting on behalf of public authorities, to the extent and for the purposes that follow from the provisions of law, (e.g., courts, Social Security, US ) and those processing personal data on the basis of entrustment agreements (e.g., medical facilities providing preventive health care services).

  1. The basis for processing your personal data is:
  • Act of April 30, 2010 on the Polish Academy of Sciences (Journal of Laws No. 96, item 619);
  • Statute of the Polish Academy of Sciences constituting an annex to Resolution No. 8/2010 of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences of November 24, 2010;
  • Statute of the Marceli Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences dated May 6, 2011.
  1. The processing of personal data is in accordance with the principle of legality and is carried out on the grounds of Article 6 of the RODO.
  2. Provision of personal data is based on the law, for the purpose of entering into a contract, and otherwise on the basis of consent to the processing of personal data.
  3. Data subjects have the right to:
  • Request from the Administrator to access, rectify, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data,
  • to object to such processing,
  • data portability,
  • lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority,
  • revoke consent to the processing of personal data.
  1. Personal data will be retained for the periods prescribed by law for particular processing purposes (e.g., employee data for the period specified by separate regulations), until a contract is fulfilled or a business claim is asserted (e.g., a lease agreement) or consent is withdrawn (e.g., recruitment).
